Paris for the day...

Posted on October 29 2016

Having lived in Paris for a year some years ago, it never pains us to go back…even if its just for the day.  So the fact that Premiere Vision is very long exhausting day is made manageable because it's in Paris, in fact it makes it a delight...

Premiere Vision is the premier (as the name suggests) exhibition for fashion professionals, which over 3 days showcases everything and anything to do with the production of beautiful garments. For us its a chance to look for new fabrics, particularly important for our next collection, as we are going in a slightly different direction with Monorails & Satellites.

Our morning started at 6am at London St. Pancras and the Eurostar…arriving into Paris around 8am, we made our way quickly to the Parc d’Expositions and the exhibition.  As we make beautiful but simple beachwear we knew what we were looking for, so headed straight for the relevant stands and got swatches and contact details from various existing and new suppliers.

We managed to wrap the day up by late afternoon and headed back into town, to spend the last few hours of the day relaxing (it was a day in late September but it was about 80 degrees).  Once there, we pottered around Gard du Nord and the surrounding area, using a great little article from The Guardian Travel - something we have to confess we would not have done when we lived there all those years ago (it was quite different then), when we were lucky enough to live in Saint Germain Des Pres.  We even squeezed in a quick trip to one of our recent finds Centre Commercial.

Then it was back on the Eurostar, with a glass of red wine to help our weary feet relax on the way back to London and home...
