Istanbul, the perfect weekend destination...

Posted on October 06 2015

What a great weekend we had in Istanbul and what a beautiful, cultural, foodie place for a weekend away - a manageable three hour flight and you arrive into the hustle, heat and spices of this gorgeous, bustling metropolis.

The city is huge but we managed to cram in just enough sightseeing to feel that we really got a taste of it.  It's hard to pick a highlight as we loved the Sultan Ahmet area, with the stunning architecture, stonework and tiles of the Blue Mosque but we also loved loved LOVED the Grand Bazaar.  Within a few minutes of entering the bazaar we were regretting only bringing carry-on bags, as we had to keep our pottery / hamman towel / spices / tea / carpet purchasing to a minimum - unfortunately one beautiful bowl we bought didn't make it home due to a slight accident with it on the plane...guess we'll have to go back soon!

We stayed in the newly opened Soho House, with it's roof top bar and swimming pools you have a fab view over the whole city.  In amongst the sight-seeing, the relaxing and the cocktails, we managed to spend sometime in the Cowshed Spa (where we stocked up on lots of fabulous products - we couldn't get enough of the Horny Cow Oil) and make it out for some delicious food.  With two veggies in our group, Turkey is the perfect place to visit and we indulged heavily in lots of humous, olives, cheese, spinach, we could go on but may be here sometime...

Like all good things, the weekend had to come to an end but we were happy to return to a sunny and warm London last week for the final days of summer for 2015. Now we're busy adding a few new dresses (sneaky peak below) in the next few weeks for our Resort Collection, for those winter sun breaks, so watch this space.....
